Shiji is an international technology company focused on innovation and integration for the hospitality industry. Founded in 1998, Shiji offers a powerful suite of cloud products — including a PMS, POS, guest engagement tools, payment solutions, and data intelligence — supporting over 91,000 hotels worldwide. Their platform brings all these solutions together into one operating system, built around a 24/7 service model.
Shiji technologies are a modern architecture designed around a microservices base for functional system speed, resilience, and efficiency. With such an innovative approach, the client faced an issue: their website had an outdated design that didn’t reflect their key mission to provide a round-the-clock support to global businesses. With this challenge, Shiji’s Creative Brand Director, Robert Hoffmann-Lohse, came to COAX’s website redesign services.
After 25 years of growth, Shiji's hospitality technology portfolio had become fragmented and outdated. To unify the visual experience and integrate their branding concept of Day and Night, which would show their commitment to establishing a round-the-clock optimization of clients’ businesses, the client recognized some primary challenges that needed to be addressed:
- Develop a unified brand architecture that would support a diverse product ecosystem.
- Articulate a memorable conceptual structure that reflects the round-the-clock lifestyle of hospitality that the company promotes and supports.
- Establish a clear naming convention that would signify each product, its purpose, and positioning.
- Create a cohesive visual identity system that would direct customers through the portfolio.
- Construct a flexible content management (CMS) structure on Webflow, allowing the creation and easy modification of multiple product pages.
- Create functionality for easy navigation of the complex portfolio of integrated solutions.
The technical challenge was significant too: every product page needed its own look and feel (colors, typography, animations, and narrative) while still feeling part of one coherent system. Scalability was essential from day one. The CMS also had to be simple enough for the Shiji team to independently manage content.
We collaborated closely with Shiji's Creative Brand Director and his internal design team to execute the Day and Night brand architecture in Webflow. The team developed a strategic vision and visual designs that define each product in the 24-hour cycle of hospitality tools: Daylight PMS at dawn, Infrasys POS into the evening, with the Shiji Platform at the center of it all, combining the concept’s identity throughout the website redesign strategy.
Our job was to take the design elements and create a fully functional website in Webflow. We designed a dynamic CMS structure that encompasses the entire product ecosystem, with its own landing page for each product, maintaining brand continuity across all pages. The site's stunning animations and visual narrative support the Day and Night story. The architecture illustrates how each product is connected to other products and encourages the hoteliers through their day-to-night operability.

The process
This project was a genuine co-creation. Shiji's creative team jointly led the visual and conceptual design with COAX, developing the full website design together based on a foundational structural sprint from an earlier phase. COAX's role went well beyond Webflow development. We were actively involved in shaping the design system, defining component behavior, and refining interactions throughout.
From there, we translated the shared vision into detailed Webflow component documentation, mapping out every page, CMS field, and interaction to make sure nothing got lost in the build.
We held weekly sync meetings to keep the project on track. Design updates and refinements were reviewed together, staged in Webflow, and refined iteratively. The feedback loop was clear: concepts were discussed collaboratively, built in Webflow staging, and validated through testing before going live.
We also created comprehensive documentation and training materials so that Shiji's marketing team could confidently own content management after launch. The technical documentation outlined the Webflow structure, naming conventions, and scaling guides for future product development.
Key features
The result
In cooperation with Robert Hoffmann-Lohse and Shiji’s creative team, we were able to consolidate their disconnected product portfolio into a seamless, intuitive brand ecosystem. The Day and Night framework accomplishes immediate clarity for hoteliers trying to navigate products.
With our custom webflow development, we created a scalable digital platform, allowing the Shiji marketing team to independently manage content with confidence, maintaining the consistency of the design as a result of the systematic framework. Our launch was also directly timed with Shiji's event in Berlin, where the hospitality industry was introduced to the rebrand.
The new website has measurable success metrics following the introduction:
- 95% increased organic search traffic - indicative of improved discoverability of SEO.
- Increased company recognition within the hospitality industry.
- Increased overall engagement and interaction with the new website experience.
- Global impact, as the outcome of the redesign, has sparked interest within other regional departments of the brand to get a similar redesign with us.
Our combined effort ensured the deadline for this important hospitality moment was met. We warmly thank Robert and the Shiji team for their clear vision and communication of their goals and our fruitful collaboration.
